Political Desks within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs External Trade (MFAET) are responsible for all aspects of bilateral and multilateral engagements within their areas of responsibility.
They help formulate policies as well as coordinate with relevant countries, partners and stakeholders to implement these policies. The Political Desks also help promote and protect Solomon Islands’ interests and development opportunities abroad and are the focal points for the establishment of Solomon Islands’ diplomatic relations with other countries as well as with international organisations and bodies.
